Woah to. Welcome to the new best rivalry in baseball. Hey, here, we are another ninety miles podcast. And I am pumped as a good weekend. Really good weekend. Ryan here cubs fan and with Jesse who unfortunately for this weekend is a brewers fan. That’s not that. Unfortunately, it’s we’re yeah. They were dominated by the cubs who took two three dominated you. You can’t losing seven and nothing on Friday night dominant. Oh, well, you know that was the one win, you know, the gums felt bad. So well, it was all seeing consecutive wins. So there you go. Yeah. Well, and that was it that now it’s over now they have to now they got a nice losing streak going. They got to good start took seventeen innings for the cubs to get a lead in the series. No, I’m sorry. Took twenty more innings for the cubs. The lead in the series. But they dominated okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. That’s at Dan or three ball games. Come on. Now by the end of the game yesterday the cubs to three the Burs two or three the first series. So here, we are, you know. Yeah. Me and the brewers have the run differential doesn’t matter. Ws matter. We all know that unless you’re. Or something when the brewers are catching up. Yeah. Yes. Correct. So, but we, you know, if we wanna look at some other things, that’s fine. I mean, you know, I mean, the the cubs are in first Burs or two games back. So that’s that’s the way it is. That’s the way. The snapshot looks here on may thirteenth, so very pleased, very pleased, very pleased. You’re supposed to win two to three at home, man. Come on. No. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But against the brewers, oh, come on. I thought you know, they’re so dominant. They’re so good. They are out there really yell at yelich do away from Miller park, by the way, just fine. Actually, he was on base one less time than havi buys was this weekend. Any struck out? Oh to less time than by as did. So. How many outs how many outs did he create? When I predicted the cubs score less than ten runs. But how many runs did the cubs put up the series? Well, they took to the threes. So many runs to this score though. Because I thought run differential was like a really big deal like Hugh deal. Yeah. When you have a lot like you mentioned sure when you have a large sample requires a large sample size. Now, it does when it’s convenient to your within. I know we were always looking at the season long run for agile not within series. But you know, whatever you gotta do. Sure. Yeah. As soon as I say, small sample what happens. Doesn’t matter sample size year. Run differential sucks as soon as it goes the other way, this is what I get. The only thing they scored the they they hit a subpar bullpen on Friday. And they scored two runs in the seventh eighth and the ninth each so six run. So they had seven tonight so seven runs on Friday night. The Bruce cord and the cubs scored six for the entire series.

Well, the last episode we did somebody was telling me like, you know, run differentials important because whoever scores more runs wins and something something something. Yes. These matters two or three ws, congratulations. Yeah. Yes. And he still did. And you still don’t have the guts the pitch Darvish against this crew. That’s amazing. Well, it’s just fell that way too bad. Not at a problem. It didn’t quote unquote fall that way for the first series Madden. Finagle the lineup. So you wouldn’t see this lineup. That’s what happened. That’s okay. That’s okay. You know, what I think you’re I think there I feel a little edginess coming from you. I think you’re a little. Little crabby today guy was I was paired for the kneeling Mondays. Yeah. Maybe Monday isn’t a good day to record. I don’t know. Yeah. Maybe I was just prepared for the crappy. We’re gonna give me today. And you can’t handle that. Maybe that’s what it is. Oh, yeah. All right. All right, fine. Cubs won two out of three want for me. Well, say it again. I’m sorry. I mean, that’s where he came up in the bigs, maybe it’s a little bit at the weather who knows? Well, that’s just that’s just too bad. I guess he he does have his weaknesses. You know? I’ll take a I’ll take his weaknesses over hobbies weaknesses any day. Thanks. Oh, you keep bringing up havi. But you know, that’s because he strikes out a lot. He’s a really good player though. Yeah. He is. He’s a really good player. Okay. This is talk about here. I know it isn’t going anywhere. This is just been this onslaught of. As talking. Yeah. Maybe we should talk about the baseball games. I suppose if we have to. Well, the the, you know, I guess the Saturday game. Sure. Start with your favorite artists, I’m degree. That was a good game struggle. That was it was a lot of fun. That was didn’t end the right way. But that’s you know, that was a that was an enjoyable. Did it did it did end the right way? Yeah. So. You know? I don’t know. I think what what did they say? Was that the longest cubs brewers game at Wrigley field that could. Well, be. I I think I heard that I’m gonna rely on you for the history here because I was a little bit tired went to bed kinda mad Saturday night. So whatever, I’m sure you did. Yeah. So I think I believe that’s what I heard it certainly took its toll on the bullpen. Although, you know for the cubs Tyler chat would pitching four innings. No runs. You know, three three walks seven strikeouts. That was a big big outing in long game like that to come in. And do that was big to equal that to Burj Smith Burch Smith who was recently called from AAA was equally. Impressive. All you get all he did give up was the one the one bomb, and that’s basically it chat would go through. No hits Birch gave up two and one half to be the game winner, which is Burke, Bert, Scott, the loss, and you know, gave up the game winning run. No big deal. But but yeah. Yeah. Well, well, you know, it it was an an interesting game. I mean in a way if you want to say, I mean, fine. I’ll admit the brewers are like the second best team in the National League central. So, you know, appropriate. This game isn’t appropriate reflection of the rivalry fifteen inning game close game. And but with the cubs pointed off two to one in fifteen innings sounds about right? Well, they manage to even brewers.

Yep. Yep. Well, yes and the season series now is three each which is interesting, and as we also predicted their their first and second. They are and yeah, yeah. The cardinals are doing with the cardinals are expected to do which is cool off, you know, sink back to third place. Everything’s kind of lineup more or less thought it would. So the cardinals are actually tied with the pirates as far as three and a half games behind but win win percentage are actually behind the pirates which so they’re in fourth place today, which which is the best lose of really if you wanna look at at least. Yeah. At least we can. Good. You know? Yes. The that’s something we wanted. We wanted to get the cardinals out of the way. We did. You know? Now, the pirates I still don’t feel are going to be a threat. So that is what it is. But but yeah, they’re they’re both three and a half games. Back. Brewers are two games back in the cubs. Of course are in first as they should be in back there. The highest win percentage of any teams in the National League. Which is rightfully so six thirty two head of the dodgers even Opie s they are in second behind the dodgers team. Oh, P T mopey. Is this a serious this a series is this a let’s praise cubs all day and then do a regular episode and try and do again Wednesday come on. Now. Let’s keep it to the series. Cubs are in second in ERA as far as their entire pitching staff. Behind behind Cincinnati. Actually, the the dodgers in third. They got a three point four four Yara Macoris hold a other than the Friday game holding the brewers down for the most part this weekend. Yeah. Okay. Let you know. I’ll let you know. I’ll give you this. The brewers are in I in fielding percentage. You got that going for you, which is nice. Well, you know if. It wasn’t for a mud field on Saturday Orlando, arsia probably doesn’t baba the ball. The cubs. Never score run. It ends in nine havi buys is over three with ground into double play. But no, the baseball guides had something different in mind. They gotta keep the cubs relevant. It’s good for baseball. They need something to be on a high horse. What? And that’s even with a very slow start. As of course, you let me have it about that. You guys have a six game losing streak director. The the Burs their struggle. But they’ve turned the pitching staff around. I would say when you to runs in fifteen plus two runs in twenty four. And then I guess that. That’s pretty good. That’s that brings us that brings us to to prediction. So let’s let’s go through. We may we made six prediction. Yes. Or three predictions each total of six predictions. So let’s let’s talk about okay. Let’s do that. You had predicted what your first one? Which is your your regular every time. They play Goto was a cub. Sweep which of course, was eliminated Friday night as usual. Yeah. Well, but it was closed. So it wasn’t close. It was seven to nothing. How close they want? They want to the three. And they still didn’t want to go first game run total. Anyway, whatever, you know. I I probably could have predicted the cubs win the series a win two of the three. That’s not enough bold enough fifty win with these teams. Oh my gosh. Of course teams are pretty evenly matched. This is what the whole cast is about. We both agree there. Good teams. Yeah. Come on now. Well, the cubs are better. Let you get away with one fifty fifty prediction already not getting letting you get away with another white you tell us about the prediction. You got. Right. Let’s hear about that. One. Oh, Kris Bryant will have a higher opium than Mike stockists. A former MVP VP Opie S’s, Mike dacas. Okay. Good job. Right it. And you know, I I’m surprised you were okay with that. But at the time that the prediction was made. You felt it was appropriately bold. I was tired arguing with. You accepted it.

Oh, I I don’t know. Are you with you? You said, okay, fine. You know started with holes his diction, which would have been smarter than the skin. Yeah. He was closer. He’s a lot. Yeah. What what I got some numbers here. What well stock is one for fifteen with the double game on. Yeah. Bryant was four for twelve three walks and homerun in the way, calculate on base. Plus slugging rate on base percentage. Plus slugging percentage if you know how to calculate slugging. It’s total bases. I think divided by at bats. And then. Yeah, whatever. Anyway, long story short for for twelve is going to be one for fifteen just about every time. So there you go pretty much, especially when you got a home run in their right, if yeah, if it was four singles, and of course, calculate calculate on the on this slugging percentage, basically Ryan had seventy five likely chance to get that one. Right. And he’s bragging about getting it right there. We have it. Doesn’t matter. You approved it as predict. Yeah. It’s on me. That’s for sure that’s on you. It’s on new. It’s not. So whatever I got that one. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways. I so I didn’t get the sweep right? But I got that one. Right. And then the other one I made was Jose cantata will have one or lesser run versus the brewers on Friday night. Unfortunately, he had three got shelled, really. Well. He didn’t really he didn’t really. But he gave up three. So anyway. Well, he gave up three. But yeah, you know, that that’s one of those things where you know. I mean, the last two were do they I think they both came in after he was out was I think, yeah. I think it came off of inherited runner for against. But you know, he got pulled me because he was he didn’t have the stuff at the moment. So that’s why that happened. That’s how it goes. So. Yeah. Three earned runs against them for hits gave up three walks as well. Well, actually, no that to the two were of Catanha. Okay. Or that’s right. That was they. He’s. And we another cubs cubs fans. Of course, you know, there was some complaints about. Why why is he and there, but you know, it’s also one of the things you take him out. And then it’s like, well why why did they pull them out? There’s going to be somebody on one side of the argument. Somebody on the other side of the argument, and nobody is going to be happy ever unless they don’t give up any runs, then everybody’s but yeah, the runs one was was a fuel. There’s choice one was a sac fly. So I I wouldn’t necessarily say he got Scheldt that’s being shelled. Makes you feel better. It does make you feel otherwise. The whole Braun was that home run in the in the fourth. Ryan braun. Yes. Who you know, extra Nadi Ryan brownie from last episode? Yeah. Had extra. He’s just learned juice that morning. He’s just the cubs killer. I don’t know what to say these day games, though. I was at work for both Saturday and Friday games. I had to watch as much as I could on on review. But there are a couple of really nice defensive plays by Milwaukee in that game. I did actually do a a little write up. So a little blog they’re on a couple of really important detail oriented defensive plays that I kind of set this team apart. That’s my plug for that outside of that. Yep. Bruce dominated game on. No problem GIO Gonzalez was awesome five and two thirds giving up only a couple of hits three walks. He’s been really helping turn that staff around. They’ve kind of really come together and pitched well since he came on board. It’s nice to see. But. Yeah. All right. That’s that’s Fridays. You know, grab you know. I see over the series the brewers grounded into eight double play. Yeah. You mentioned that three of them were courtesy of yelich. So remember right that Saturday game. I think five out of the first nine innings. They had the Bruce got the the the leadoff hitter on first base all five times grounded into double plays is just uncanny. I mean normally you getting your lead leadoff runner on that often. You’re going to put up some runs and and win the ball game. It was. Yeah. It was something else to see the lack of clutch hitting their the lack of moving guys over yesterday’s game. Didn’t Cain start off with what should have been a double missed. The bag went back to first then yelich grounds into double play. Again. It was a it was kind of it was it was a very strange series as far as that goes, very unusual.

Not something that’s going to repeat itself very often in a season. So nothing to get to work up. Above just weird. It is. I mean, it just shows you know, that the cubs are superior. Getting those double plays getting out of that. So there you go. What about your predictions? Well, the first one looked good after Friday night. I predicted which is bold because you don’t believe at all in our pitching staff. I predicted that two hours starters would log a w I got halfway there on game one. So GIO went out and got the w game number two Orlando CNN. It’s not his fault. You know, if the ball doesn’t pop out of his glove Bruce starter leaves with the lead. Maybe I get the second one there. Unfortunately, if you don’t win two or three games, you can’t have your starter win two out of three. So that’s shot. Obviously the see here there was one for Christian yelich getting aid RBI. We already talked about that that did not go. Well, the one that got right now the one that got rate was bolt. I mean, all three my predictions were actually bold. They weren’t like, you know, gimmes, but the one that I. I did predict the Bruce pitching staff, which I thought at the time was coming off some struggling this two three weeks ago. They were struggling quite a bit the geo signing gave me some confidence. I predicted that they would hold the cubs. Ten runs or less. They held them to six. So I did get that. Right. And it’s been like I said very nice to see this pitching staff. Start pulling together, they’re setting up. Well, nice run here. So. Well, they lost to the three. So didn’t really matter. So e you know, anything else ended up being the lower lower scoring games. You know, maybe I should’ve looked a little closer at the weather. We went to known three weeks come on. No, you’re no, you’re blaming the weather. The bats. Well, now, it’s okay. Yeah. The bats were a little quieter than they have because the Burs arms are a lot better than they used to be. Wow. Yeah. I don’t think. So. But anyway, these these Burs cubs games oftentimes are the lowest scoring type that first series. This year was kind of a kind of an outlier. I mean, there’s always the chance with these lineups to have a high scoring game. But generally speaking through the second half last year, there weren’t a lot of explosive games that first series this year had three of them that two of them that were really high scoring. So this was the polar opposite really is far as that goes. Yeah. Yeah. Well control has had a nice series. He stayed he stayed pretty hot and Kris Bryant had a nice nice series as well, generally. But yeah. Little lower scoring, and yeah, it’s you know, I don’t know. So I guess predictions. We both were went one for three. So that’s still keeps me in the lead overall for the season. Don’t don’t bring any of those week predictions next time man, I’m starting to shut down. I’m gonna clamp down on this week. Saw slit you’ve been delivering no more of that. Yeah. Yes. Fine, whatever. But you know, I don’t know why why you would let those slide because you know, it’s just gonna lead to a lot of embarrassment later. Well, I think the year after I win I think arguing about predictions on the pad cast just slows down the show. You know, it’s just slowing things down. All right. Oh, I well. So that’s ninety miles pockets com. I think our next predictions. Come unless we may. Of course, we’ll make some more in the meantime. But otherwise, it looks like we got you know, all star game predictions. We got few few those, and you know, all star break, a speaking of the all star break. Yeah. Don’t forget.
